Route Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
- Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Meet and greet with your guide from Explore Jambo Maasai Limited.
- Transfer to your hotel in Moshi for check-in and freshen up.
- Welcome dinner briefing about the journey ahead and an overview of the itinerary.
Day 2: Chemka Hot Springs
- Morning: Depart from Moshi and head to the enchanting Chemka Hot Spring.
- Midday: Arrive at Chemka Hot Springs. Enjoy swimming in the crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush greenery.
- Afternoon: Have a packed lunch in nature, then relax or explore the quaint surroundings.
- Evening: Return to Moshi Town for overnight stay.
Day 3: Materuni Waterfalls
- Morning: Travel to Materuni village on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Midday: Start your scenic hike through picturesque landscapes and coffee plantations.
- Afternoon: Reach Materuni Waterfall (80 meters high). Enjoy lunch and a refreshing dip in the cool waters.
- Evening: Return to Moshi Town for dinner and relaxation.
Day 4: Begin Mount Kilimanjaro Hike (Machame Route)
- Morning: After breakfast, depart to the Machame Gate to begin the Kilimanjaro hike.
- Midday: Start the trek through lush rainforest, enjoying the diverse vegetation.
- Afternoon: Arrive at Machame Camp (3,000 m / 9,843 ft) and settle in; enjoy dinner and rest overnight.
Day 5: Kilimanjaro Hike (Shira Camp)
- Morning: After breakfast, continue the hike up towards Shira Camp.
- Midday: Take breaks to enjoy the panoramic views and the unique flora and fauna.
- Afternoon: Arrive at Shira Camp (3,850 m / 12,631 ft), set up camp, and enjoy dinner while gazing at the stars.
Day 8: Kilimanjaro Hike (Barranco Camp)
- Morning: Depart early for Barranco Camp. Experience the “hike high, sleep low” strategy.
- Midday: Cross the Lava Tower (4,600m/15,400ft) and descend to Barranco Camp (3,950 m / 12,959 ft) for acclimatization.
- Afternoon: Enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountain and surrounding landscapes.
- Evening: Dinner and overnight at Barranco Camp.
Day 9: Summit Day and Return to Arusha
- Midnight: Start the final ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m / 19,341 ft).
- Morning: Reach the summit at sunrise, taking in the breathtaking views from the roof of Africa.
- Afternoon: Begin the descent and return to Barranco Camp for a break. Continue down to the base camp.
- Evening: Arrive at the gate, collect your certificates, and transfer back to Moshi. Celebrate your achievement with a farewell dinner.
Day 10: Day Tour of Arusha National Park
- Morning: Depart early for Arusha National Park.
- Midday: Embark on a game drive to explore the park’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and various bird species.
- Afternoon: Enjoy a picnic lunch while soaking in the stunning views of Mount Meru and the park’s landscapes.
- Evening: Return to Arusha for dinner and overnight stay. OR
- Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departing flight or extend your stay with additional tours and activities.
