Safari Overview

This tour and safari will take you to four National Parks and one historical museum namely, Tarangire National Park known for tree-climbing pythons, Lake Manyara National Park is unique for tree-climbing lions, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Carter for its varnishing black rhinoceros together with a number of animals being in the Crater. It’s amazing into 8 days 7 nights on safari with a multitude of wildlife, the sounds of nature away from cities, and tours from civilization, from awesome animal sights to comfortable accommodations in spacious hotels, lodges, and luxury tented camps.

Safari Itinerary

Arrival Day

Our representative at JAMBO MAASAI TOURSwill meet you for an introductory briefing upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, before a transfer to Tourist Hotel in Moshi or Arusha Town for your tour and safari. Overnight at your hotel in Moshi / Arusha on Bed and breakfast basis.

Day 1: Moshi or Arusha – Tarangire

After breakfast in Moshi / Arusha Town transfer to Tarangire National Park with lunch packet, comprise the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. Tarangire River crosses the park from north to south attracting a number of different species of animals, birds and other creatures. With JAMBO MAASAI TOURS; you will be assured of seeing and being entertained by large numbers of elephants, rhino, eland, warthog, buffalo, lion, lesser and greater kudu, grenuk, impala, zebra, giraffe, velvet monkeys and tree climbing pythons which are a major attraction to the visitors in the Park. In addition the huge baobab trees, the old acacia trees, down palm and black cotton grasslands, add to the beauty of the Park provide optimal opportunities for nature lovers. Whether for wedding, honeymoon, old couples or an unforgettable getaway with the one you love, you will find love is in the air at Tarangire. Later in the evening after game-drive to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Tarangire.

Day 2: Tarangire – Lake Manyara

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Manyara for game drive with picnic lunch packet for a morning tour of Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park is the oldest and most developed Wildlife reserve in Tanzania, Fantalle volcano, extensive mineral hot springs, and extra ordinary volcanic formations. Noted for its numerous buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo, and a great variety of smaller animals. On the shores of the Soda Lake, over 350 species of birds including flamingos, pelican, storks, scared ibis, cormorants and Egyptian geese seen wondering. The most famous spectacle are the tree – climbing lions which spend most of the day spread out along the branches of acacia trees, six to seven meters above the ground. Apart from wildlife, the spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley adds to the attraction of the Park’s ecosystem. As you enter the National Park gate checkpoint you will pass into the forest, home to the baboons and blue monkeys live among other species observed in a single day. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Serengeti

After breakfast, transfer to Serengeti Central (Seronera) for a half-day tour. The park contains millions of animals and boasts the largest concentration of migratory wildlife in the World; you will view animals (over 75 species) and birds (over 400) moving freely in their natural wilderness. Nowhere on earth is there a sight rivaling the spectacle of over 3.7 million holed animals on the march. Serengeti Covers an area of 14,763 km (9,173 square miles), the park has a dramatic landscape, with wooded hills and mountains as a backdrop. Our Driver / Guides know every hide – away of animal and birds, you will really enjoy viewing the animals at close range. If you are interested in the big five “elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and buffalo”, the Serengeti is the most popular. As known, the unique thing is the annual migration, which starts from December to May through January in the south of the Park and from June to October to the west and to the north. Thousands of migrating wildebeest, which are the major center of attraction in Serengeti, cross the river to the northern side. Their movement starts in the months of May and June each year from south Serengeti till the end of December before they come back to re-occupy the Serengeti plains. During the period lasting for about 6 months, the wildebeest, zebras, antelopes trek to cover a distance of over 1,000 kilometers, giving spectacular picture of the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at North Serengeti (Lobo) for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 & 5: Full Day Serengeti

After breakfast, full day tour of the northern part of known as SERENGETI LOBO and the surrounding areas to proceed in exploring the Serengeti plains. Our Guide will take you to scenic spot where you will have a perfect panoramic view of the African sunrise or sunset, Seeing giraffes or elephants grazing across the grassland below as those first or last golden rays above or below the horizon. Not in the World can say they have seen such a beautiful sight. The whole atmosphere at the National Parks is interesting, gentle, friendly and totally accepting which can never be replicated in a zoo or a wildlife park other than in Tanzania. Truly, Serengeti is a place full of romantic life where you can enjoy nature at its best. You will spend the whole day viewing game at the southwestern Serengeti plains. Meals and overnight at Serengeti (Seronera) National Park.

An excursion in the famous Serengeti national Park, the zenith of satisfaction achieved by finding vantage points from where one can watch the captivity scenery rich in natural fauna & flora.  Balloon flying provides the biggest opportunity to view wildebeest and zebras followed by predators migrate across the vast plains and landscape in search of land with plenty of grass and water.

Day 6: Serengeti - Ngorongoro

After breakfast, collect lunch boxes and drive through Serengeti to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge. Taking into granted, Serengeti plains is a wide area, this day we start with a half-day tour en-route while we transfer you to Ngorongoro. The unique thing at Serengeti National Park is the annual migration, which starts from December to May through January in the south of the Park and from June to October to the west and to the north. Thousands of migrating wildebeest, which are the major center of attraction in Serengeti, cross the river to the northern side. Their movement starts in the months of May and June each year from south Serengeti till the end of December before they come back to re-occupy the Serengeti plains. Ngorongoro Crater is a natural amphitheater covers an area of about 260 sq. km and is a home of up to 25,000 large mammals like elephants, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, gazelles and carnivores like lions, leopards, cheater, hyena, hunting wild dogs, and jackals. Manyara noted for its numerous buffalo, impala, hippo, and other animals. On the shores of the Soda Lake, over 350 species of birds including flamingos, pelican, storks, scared ibis, cormorants and Egyptian geese can be seen. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Highland.

Day 7: Full Day – Ngorongoro

After breakfast, descend to Ngorongoro crater floor with Picnic lunch packets at Ngorongoro crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater situated within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (including Ngorongoro Crater) which has an area of 8,300 sq. kilometers (3,205 square miles) of Mountains, other Volcanic Craters, highland forests, high plains and somewhat lower part of the Serengeti plains. Ngorongoro Crater, where the law of the jungle is predominant and nature protected in its wildest and at a most exotic form, it is the World’s largest caldera (the largest with unbroken wall).  JAMBO MAASAI TOURS arranges tours and safari to Ngorongoro Crater, situated at 2,286 m. above sea level. This natural amphitheater, unique 260 square kilometers Ngorongoro Crater spanning a 23 kilometer radius in 610 meters from the rim to the bottom is like a big basin full of animals, birds, plant life, and provides spectacular scenery rich with fauna and flora all of which combine to make it a wonder of the natural World. There is a lovely road that runs downhill, and descending to the floor of the crater, which can be reached by a 4WD vehicle. The Crater is notable for its physical beauty and the abundance of wildlife in and around it throughout the year – roundhouse to thousands of animals and birds from Egyptian geese to the rare black rhino, never venturing out of the Crater which include elephants, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, gazelles and carnivores like lions, leopards, cheater, hyena, hunting wild dogs, and jackals.To summarize, Ngorongoro Crater is a most stunning and attractive natural feature, which supports an enormous wealth of wildlife and contains the most visible population of vanishing black rhinoceros remaining in Tanzania. The Ngorongoro Conservation area has been proposed to be the 8th wonder of the World and its Crater has been declared a World heritage site. A full day or two in the Crater where the show never stops can at least carter for your thirst. Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 8: Ngorongoro – Arusha / Moshi – Kilimanjaro Airport

After breakfast, this last day our driver Guide will take you for a walk to get a glimpse of the Local living villages for a unique way of life and learn something new, learn about how to use the local flora and fauna in daily life, how to track animals and how to live a sustainable existence. Thereafter, transfer to Arusha / Moshi or Kilimanjaro International Airport.

One among these eight days if time allows our Driver Guide will take you to scenic spot where you will have a perfect panoramic view of the African sunrise or sunset, seeing giraffes or elephants grazing across the grassland as those first or last golden rays above or below the horizon. Not in the World can say they have seen such a beautiful sight. If your planned budgeted time wasn’t enough for your tour and safari, you can absolutely continue your adventure by paying extra costs on extra days to your stay while in Tanzania. Travel to other parks to see other sceneries don’t necessarily seen at Serengeti and Ngorongoro part. Perhaps in these parks was all you needed to see in your tour and safari sights you wanted to see. The perfect way to end your safari is by making an add on tour program to / for Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trails and cultural visits cannot be missed while visiting our Country.
